Our Internship Program

What To Expect

We will collaborate with you to establish your program goals, assign you to real projects supporting organizational goals, and provide you professional development with evaluations and timely feedback.

Your meaningful, hands-on experience will be augmented with opportunities to network and make long-lasting professional relationships. You’ll be paired with a mentor who will be your support throughout the program. At the conclusion of the program you will be able to present your projects and experience to your peers and executive team members.

Favorite part of your internship?
During the summer, I had the chance to visit a plastic molding supplier’s site with the Quality team and tour their facility. The internship program was very flexible, allowing me to return and work over my winter break, which I greatly appreciated.

How did the UFP Summer Internship Program prepare you for your role?
The internship allowed me to form valuable connections with coworkers and understand their roles. Additionally, I was introduced to the manufacturing process, which has been essential in my current position.

Favorite part of your internship?
I enjoyed collaborating with a very knowledgeable and supportive team of mentors who guided me through the practice of engineering design. Despite being new to the manufacturing space, my colleagues worked with me to instill confidence in my summer assignments and project goals.

Favorite part of your internship?
My favorite part of my internship was running and managing projects of my own. I felt that my team trusted and supported me as an engineer, giving me the responsibility to spearhead new product introductions. The responsibility and challenge motivated me, and I was excited to bring the project from inception to production. It was a valuable learning experience that prepared me for a full-time role and was personally rewarding.

How did the UFP Summer Internship Program prepare you for your role?
Interning at UFP before starting full-time gave me the great advantage of being familiar with the company, the people, and the way business is run here. By interning over multiple summers, I had the opportunity to see the company grow and shift. This experience helped me realize that UFP's growth in medical device manufacturing aligned with my interests in biomedical engineering and biomaterials. This understanding of the business prepared me for full-time work and reinforced my decision to return to UFP post-graduation.
